Biocodex was created in 1953 for the production and marketing of the first drug for the intestinal flora replacement, "Saccharomyces boulardii", available in France under the name ULTRA-LEVURE®.
The range then expanded to include products developed by Biocodex, representing 45% of sales in France (at the end of 2007), and products acquired from other companies, redeveloped by Biocodex.
French operations currently market 12 products.
Biocodex works in three main therapeutic areas:
Gastroenterology, where it is the recognized international specialist in drugs for the intestinal flora replacement;
Neurology and Psychiatry, with an antidepressant, an anxiolytic and an antiepileptic;
Pain Treatment, with a range of general and local analgesics.
